Robert Hengeveld is an artist who’s works hover between reality and artifice.  His interest in the boundaries between fact and fiction is explored through various disciples, including installation, video, and drawing.  His most recent work explores our perception of the real as we understand it through the media; creating video installations that are produced from model sets.  These videos falter between the authentic and the evidently fictive.  

Hengeveld is currently a faculty member of the Vancouver Island School of Art and is living and producing his work in Victoria, Canada.  He completed his MFA at the University of Victoria; 2005 and received a Fine Arts Diploma and Certificate from Georgian College, and an AOCAD from the Ontario College of Art and Design, 2003. Hengeveld continues to exhibit his work across Canada and internationally, and has participated in artist residencies in both Canada and Scotland.
