My work has evolved as a consequence of my interest in the frameworks of understanding and the mental processes that we use to construct our experiences. If it is true that we must establish order in our lives to make it meaningful, then with my projects I attempt to investigate what happens when these organizing principles are shifted. In deconstructing these modes of categorization I want to find out how recollection is implicated in our ideas and knowledge of the self. When our memory fails us we may experience feelings of dislocation and loss, or we might invent new relationships and meanings. I’m starting with failure.
